It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Ken “KD” Dietrich, a much-loved and highly respected member of the Noosa Rugby family.

Ken was there in the early days of Noosa Rugby and was one of our original team players. His contribution to the club, however, went far beyond his years on the field. Ken remained a loyal supporter of Noosa Rugby throughout his life and was a familiar and valued presence around the club.

For many years, Ken also played an important role as fitness coach, working with many coaches, helping generations of players prepare themselves physically and mentally for the demands of rugby. He understood that Rugby was about much more than what happened on the field. It was about mateship, commitment, hard work and being part of a community.

Those qualities were reflected in Ken himself. He was a passionate supporter of Noosa Rugby and someone who took genuine pride in seeing the club and its players continue to grow. His connection with the club spanned decades, and his contribution is woven into the history of Noosa Rugby. He loved coming down and watching Corey play and was at most games this year while he was unwell.

For those who knew Ken, he will be remembered not only for what he gave to the club, but for the person he was - loyal, hardworking, generous with his time and always proud to be part of the Noosa Rugby family.

The passing of someone who has been part of a club for so many years is felt deeply. Ken represents an important part of our history, and we are grateful for the years he gave to Noosa Rugby and for the many friendships he made along the way.

On behalf of the Noosa Rugby Union Club, our players, coaches, volunteers, past players, and members, we extend our deepest condolences to Ken’s family and loved ones.

Vale KD.

Thank you for your contribution, your friendship, and your unwaveringsupport of Noosa Rugby. You will always remain a part of our club’s history and our Noosa Rugby family.

Rest in peace, Ken.
